CEO position — Foldie 3D Printers

Remote — with optional travel to Beaufort, SC and future manufacturing sites.
Lead the first machine in a five‑product pipeline. Build the future of mobile 3D Printing.

The Mission

Foldie isn’t just a portable 3D printer. It’s the ignition point for a hardware pipeline designed to scale from creators → prosumers → industrial construction.

  • Foldie160 Prototype — portable, foldable, laptop‑bag‑sized plastic 3D printer for students, creators, and crowdfunding
  • Foldie160 Metal — metal‑frame, higher‑precision, field‑ready unit
  • Foldie Qubic — one‑cubic‑meter build volume printer that folds up and rolls away
  • Foldie Crab Printer — a walking concrete‑printing robot with an articulated trunk, capable of constructing large structures almost anywhere
  • Foldie Crane Printer — three mobile cranes forming a delta‑style 3D printer for massive concrete architectures

If you take Foldie from prototype → crowdfunding → production, you unlock the entire chain. You’re not applying for a job — you’re stepping into a product line you can run.

Role Overview

You will lead Foldie as its own business unit inside CreaVisual LLC. You will shape strategy, manufacturing, supply chain, launch, and growth. You will use Foldie’s revenue to unlock the next machines. You will operate with autonomy, authority, and a builder’s mindset.

You will collaborate with the founder and report to the board of directors, respecting the operating agreement.

This role is for someone who has shipped hardware before and wants to do it again — but bigger.

Responsibilities

  • Run Foldie like your own startup inside CreaVisual
  • Architect the Kickstarter / Indiegogo launch
  • Build manufacturing partnerships and production readiness
  • Oversee BOM optimization, costing, and supply chain
  • Drive marketing, community, and creator outreach
  • Manage post‑campaign fulfillment
  • Build Foldie’s 12–24 month roadmap
  • Recruit and lead a small team as revenue grows
  • Prepare the runway for Foldie Metal 160 → Qubic → Construction Printers
  • Report to founder and board of directors

Every decision you make shapes the next machine.

Compensation

This role uses product‑specific profit‑share, tied to performance and pipeline progression.

Profit‑Share Ladder

You earn profit‑share across the pipeline as you deliver results:

  • 15% of Foldie net profits (4‑year vesting, 1‑year cliff)
  • +7.5% of Foldie Metal 160 profits once Foldie Prototype hits $50k
  • +7.5% of Qubic profits once Metal 160 hits $100k
  • +10% of all Construction Printer profits once Qubic hits $250k

This is how you turn Foldie into a multi‑machine portfolio you control.

Salary

Salary activates only when Foldie becomes financially self‑sustaining or after securing $250,000+ in external funding.

Base Salary (activated by revenue milestones):

  • $60,000/year once Foldie reaches $185,000 total revenue
  • $80,000/year once Foldie reaches $275,000 total revenue
  • $100,000/year once Foldie reaches $500,000 total revenue

Until then, compensation is profit‑share only.

Trial Period

3‑month trial focused on traction:

  • Crowdfunding prep
  • Manufacturing quotes
  • Partnership outreach
  • Investor conversations

Ideal Candidate

  • Has shipped hardware or led manufacturing before
  • Free to travel when required
  • Understands DFM, supply chain, and production logistics
  • Comfortable with risk, ambiguity, and autonomy
  • Wants to run a product line, not sit in a corporate chair
  • Sees Foldie as the first step toward building a company that creates sustainable jobs and funds education for employees’ children
  • Thrives in “build first, polish later” environments
  • Can turn prototypes into revenue engines

If you’ve ever said “I could run this better,” this is your chance.
